The French Buying Process is very long yet it is reputated in being amongst the most secure in the world. Here are the main steps you will have to take before receiving the keys to your dream property.

Start the viewings: progressively eliminate what you don’t need- FOCUS on what you want and NOT on what you don’t want. Accept the Market Reality : your 100% expectations may sometimes exist but if we find 90% of them, this may be the right one for you. Remember this is still someone else’s home and it will only be yours once you have brought your furniture, spirit, pictures and colors.

Once we have secured the negotiation and got the needed information about the property we can sign the pre-contract, called: Compromis de Vente.
This step is the first key to access the ownership! Once it has been completed, the buyer (and only the buyer) is given a reflexion period of 10 days allowing him to investigate more or to change his mind. This right is only given to the buyer and not the seller. From there on, we will wait for the legal administration processes to be completed by the sollicitor – collecting historical data documents, checking town hall information, verifying syndic situation etc.
Once this process has been successfully completed we can  set the closing date:
Finally, the last step consists in receiving the deed, the keys and the official documents. At this point, it’s time to celebrate!!l
